A fake shopping site that lets you experience the pleasure of purchasing food, clothes and other items, without actually spending any money.
These pretend consumption sites have gone viral among young South Koreans, but there’s at least one English-language version for food delivery called FakeEats, according to TechSpot.
The idea is to capture the pleasure of consuming by mimicking the act of scrolling through a menu, putting something into a shopping cart, or clicking an order button.
“The anticipation often generates a psychological reward equal to, or sometimes greater than, the actual purchase,” Psychology Today blogger Pamela Rutledge wrote last month.
